Occupational Therapy

Would my child benefit from OT?

The following are indications that your child may benefit from Occupational Therapy Services:

  • Overly sensitive to touch, sounds, food textures, or movement
  • Picky eaters
  • Unusually high or low activity level
  • Problems interacting with peers
  • Problems organizing oneself at home or in the classroom
  • Coordination and balance challenges
  • Difficulty learning new and unfamiliar tasks
  • Quick to display feelings of frustration or failure
  • Difficulty with transitions
  • Difficulty with listening and/or attention
  • Difficulty with fine motor, gross motor and handwriting skills
  • Developmental delays


What services does your office provide?

Evaluations:
Comprehensive evaluations are provided to assess sensory integration, fine motor, visual motor, gross motor, and developmental skills. A treatment plan is designed and implemented following evaluations.

Individualized Treatment:
One-on-one therapy tailored specifically for each child to best address his or her developmental needs. Fifty minute intensive sessions are provided.

Home Programs:
Therapists provide home activity suggestions to families, which assist with carryover of skill development and promote increased progress.

Monitoring:
Therapists monitor children's progress at each treatment session, adjusting goals and styles of treatment as needed. Parents receive regular verbal updates from the therapist.
